Revisiting

Sometimes a painting refuses to be finished, it says - my colours have faded , the trees are not ghostly enough, you have lost the way.

We revisit Craig -y- Nos Country Park every weekend - walk the dog through the fields next to the river then sit and look at the light changing on the mountain. It induces a kind of reflective mood - meditative and spititual.

I revisit paintings often - particularly those which are in my studio. The light may be different one morning - and this inspires me again.

The process involved in making paintings is as important to me as the finished result - you don't always know what the result is going to be. I like mystery.
